How Omni sends email

Omni (omni.contact) sends email only when it helps someone settle something: a sign-in code, a reminder about a matter, and a message from one person to another named person. We send no advertising or newsletters, and we never buy address lists.

What we send

To whom and how many

Only a user who has confirmed their e-mail address or signed in with Google can send a message to a person outside Omni. One person can send at most 10 such messages per day. A human types the address; we never import or buy addresses.

How to unsubscribe

Every message to a person outside Omni has a link at the bottom, “Do not want more emails from Omni?”, and works with the “Unsubscribe” button in your mail app (one click, no sign-in). After you unsubscribe we never write to that address again.

Bounces and complaints

If the recipient reports a message as unwanted, or messages bounce from the same address twice, the address goes on our block list and gets no more emails from Omni. An account that sent a message reported as unwanted, or from which three messages bounced within a week, loses the ability to write to people outside Omni until we have looked into it. The author sees in Omni that the message was not delivered.

If within an hour someone reports a message from Omni as unwanted, or more than 5% of messages bounce (at least two), Omni itself pauses cards and invitations to everyone outside Omni. After 800 emails within a day, cards, invitations and reminders wait, while login codes still go out.

Reporting abuse

Write to abuse@omni.contact (abuse), postmaster@omni.contact (delivery problems) or contact@omni.contact (anything else). A person reads these mailboxes.

Email from omni.contact is signed (DKIM) and protected by SPF and DMARC records.
